BYS 10/27/24 🟨 Make like a tree...
Like leaves falling from a tree, rid yourself of the things you no longer need.
Much like trees in autumn shed their leaves to make way for new growth, you also need to let go of old habits, mindsets, or identities that no longer serve you. This shedding is necessary to make space for new opportunities, perspectives, and growth.
Drop the weight of what no longer serves you n today's Big Yellow Sticky...
Make Space for New Growth.
Trees shed their leaves in the fall through a process called abscission.
The word Abscission translates from the Latin words "ab-" meaning "away" and "scindere" meaning "to cut". Reinventing yourself means cutting away the things (and perhaps some people) that no longer fit into your life.
Recognize the habits, routines, and relationships that aren't serving you anymore and decide to move forward without them. This process isn't always easy, but it’s necessary for growth. By dropping the weight and commitment of what's holding you back, you create space for new opportunities, ideas, and ways of being that align better with who you want to become.
You don't have to reject your past or deny who you've been, but take the opportunity to make choices that bring you closer to your goals. Just as trees don’t worry about the leaves they lose, you don't need to hold on to old patterns out of fear.
Change can feel uncertain, but it’s also an act of self-empowerment. By shedding the old, you make room to redefine yourself and embrace the possibilities that come with a fresh start.
