They say "Time Flies" as if it's a tiny bird that becomes startled and swiftly takes flight, soaring out of reach.

But I think time behaves more like a puddle of water in the hot summer sun. Slowly, silently, and gradually vanishing as it evaporates into the ether until we finally look up and notice the puddle is gone and wonder where it went.
