BYS 08/20/23 đ¨ Everyday Mistakes
I made a Big Yellow Sticky yesterday.
I made a mistake when I was typing and wrote the word âOctoberâ when I meant âSeptemberâ. I made a mistake â but it happened while I was making something. Donât let making a mistake stop you from attempting to make something with meaning.
It would be a mistake to skip today's Big Yellow Sticky...
Make something everyday -- even if it's just making a mistake.
By creating something everyday (a piece of art, a new recipe, a written paragraph, a 3x3 yellow sticky note, or even a failed attempt at a new skill) you are actively engaging with the world around you. You're pushing your boundaries, experimenting, and gaining valuable insights.
Don't underestimate the importance of making mistakes in your daily creative efforts. Mistakes are not failures-- they are experiments. They teach you what doesn't work and push you to find better solutions.
Embracing mistakes as part of your daily creative process helps build calluses and improves your ability to adapt.
Whether you're crafting a masterpiece or simply trying something fun and new, remember that the act of creating (even if it results in an error) is an essential part of your building your creative powers and stretching your imagination.
I make plenty of mistakes.
Sometime I correct them, sometimes I ignore them, sometimes I don't even notice them -- but no matter how many mistakes I make today, it will never stop me from making something new tomorrow (even if it's making a new mistake).
Make no mistake about this -- I'll return tomorrow with a brand new BYS!
