BYS 07/30/23 🟨 They Hate Your Idea
It can be tough to summon the courage to share ideas when you know 90% of the people in the room will hate them.
The trick is remembering their dislike of your idea doesn't signify a failure on your part, it actually reveals something profound about your uniqueness and the distinctiveness of your vision.
It's vital to your success that you continue to put yourself and your concepts out there knowing that the right audience will be drawn to your ideas like a magnet.

Someone is always going to hate your idea.
It just means it wasn't for them.
When you're on the path in pursuit of your dreams and putting forth your innovative ideas into the world, the cold hard truth is that not everyone is going to love your ideas -- and many people are simply going to hate them.
Some people will have personal or professional reasons/excuses for hating your ideas: your ideas will require them to do more work, cost them more resources, they're jealous they didn't think of your idea first, they did think of the idea first and weren't bold enough to speak it aloud, or a myriad other reason(logical or not) for hating your idea.
And some people won't have a reason or excuse at all, but they'll hate your idea anyway.
Don't be disheartened by naysayers. Use negative feedback to refine and strengthen your vision, but never forget that an idea's worth is not determined by its popularity among everyone.
When your idea elicits strong reactions it means you are daring to explore new territories and challenge the status quo. Free yourself from the burden of seeking universal approval and allow yourself to focus on the impact your idea can have on the ones who truly resonate with it.
Every great idea is bound to connect with some and not with others. Embrace the fact that your idea wasn't meant for everyone (and that's perfectly okay.) What matters is finding the audience and individuals who connect with your concept, who see the brilliance in it, and who will champion it alongside you.
What was the last idea you suggested that at least half the room hated when they heard it?
If you still love the idea, I challenge you to go out and find another person or two that love the idea just as much as you -- and find a way to put it into action.
