Use The Resources At-Hand
Look around and identify what tools, materials, or support you already have available and use them to create a solution to the problem you're currently facing.
Instead of delaying action while seeking out new resources, you can often find solutions by making the best use of what is immediately accessible. Using the resources at-hand allows you to more quickly address the problem using what you have, and it challenges your problem-solving skills to think creatively and more efficiently.
The United States Apollo 13 space mission is the perfect example of how using just the resources you have on hand to can lead to incredibly innovative solutions to even life-threatening problems. When a series of malfunctions threatened the safety of the crew of the Apollo 13, there were no options run down to the local hardware store for more tools or parts. No same-day Amazon deliveries can be shipped to a rocket cruising through space (yet). But the team members at Mission Control were able to hack together a solution using only the minimal resources that were packed onto the tiny spaceship and save the lives of the crew members by returning them to Earth.
If you're working on a project and realize you don't have a specific tool, think about what you do have that might serve a similar purpose. Maybe you need a specific software, but a simpler tool you already have can achieve the same result with a bit of adjustment. Using the resources at hand can also mean leveraging the knowledge and skills of people around you. Ask for help or advice from colleagues or friends who might offer a fresh perspective or a useful solution.
By focusing on what you already have, you become more adaptable and efficient, which leads to quicker and often surprisingly effective outcomes.
