BYS 08/04/24 🟨 The Plain Truth
Communicate honestly and directly.
Don't embellishment or sugar-coat when describing the products and services you offer or breaking bad news to clients or family. Be straightforward and clear in what you say rather than dressing up the message to make it more palatable or to avoid offending someone or to convince a prospect to invest in something you're selling that really isn't what they need.
Speak the truth in today's Big Yellow Sticky...
Speak The Plain Truth
Choose to be direct and honest.
There's no need for fancy words or elaborate explanations or bending the truth; be plain and true and say what you mean.
How often have you had to do a deep dive into the details of some product or service to make certain it was going to actual do what you needed it to do? How about product warranties or guarantees that end up being denied because of some obscure technicality? Don't be one of those guys!
Be a person people can trust because they know you’re not trying to manipulate the conversation or hide anything behind vague statements or overblown promises. It might feel uncomfortable at times, especially if the truth is hard to hear, but it builds credibility and respect.
Speaking the plain truth protects your reputation, saves time, frustration, and prevents issues from escalating. Instead of dancing around a problem -- address it head-on. This doesn’t mean being blunt or rude, it’s about being clear and to the point. Acknowledge product shortcomings when it comes to meeting specific client needs, be clear on what needs to be done or what’s not working, and you do it without adding unnecessary delays or details. This way everyone involved knows where they stand and you can work towards better solutions together.
